Hey all! We’ve had lots of requests for text updates when we post a new freebie, so I’m happy to say this will be a new feature of ours. Here’s how you can get text updates:

1. Text “follow SampleStuff” to 40404

2. Done!

I set it up, so you’ll only get text messages when we post a new free sample or freebie. You’ll get 2 texts when you signup:

1. “TIP: Want to Tweet? Reply w/START anytime and join the conversation!”

↑ ignore that one
2. “Welcome to Twitter! You’re now following @SampleStuff and you’ll receive their Tweets on your phone.”

On average, we post about 2-3 freebies a day, so keep in mind standard text messaging fees apply if you don’t have unlimited texting. 

 

At least once a day I get asked why facebook isn’t showing updates from our facebook page anymore. They’ve actually made lots of changes and one of them was that only few fans could see any page’s updates (out of our 180,000+ fans, only about 5,000 or so could see updates). Well here’s an easy peasy fix if you were affected:

1. Click here to visit our facebook page.

2. Hover your mouse over the like button (please “like” us if you haven’t already 🙂 )

3. Click settings

4. Click “All Updates”

Done! You should be all set! If you’d also like to get notifications for new posts, you can click here to join our facebook group.

Hey all! If you’re a fan of our facebook page, you might have noticed that you don’t see many of the updates from us on your newsfeed. Basically facebook has limited fans from seeing updates from all facebook pages unless you’re visiting, commenting, or liking on them often. To make it easier to get updates, I made a group on facebook for us. You can click here to join. Nothing has changed. I’ll still be posting on our facebook page too, it’s just that if you join the group, you’ll be more likely to see new posts 🙂

 

I’m SUPER exited about this new feature we now have on SampleStuff.com. If you’re a frequent visitor, you might have noticed that some of the freebies / deals I find become no longer available because the company has no more left, time’s run out, etc. I know this is beyond annoying to come across, so now you can report posts that are no longer available.

Under each post is a green link like the one above. If you run into anything that’s no longer, just click the link to report it and I’ll mark it as expired a.s.a.p. (Feel free to test it out on this post if you want). This should make it much easier to browse posts that you might have missed by clicking the categories on the right under “Money Saving Tips.” 🙂

If you’re a facebook user, you might have noticed some changes in your newsfeed. Facebook made it so that you really only see pages that you interact with. (Like, comment, etc.) I had tons of fans say they were missing out on free samples because they weren’t seeing our updates anywhere. Well here’s the fix via a new facebook feature 🙂

1. Click here to visit our facebook and like us if you haven’t already.

2. Now click the like button once more

3. Now click “Get Notifications”

4. Done! You should get a notification whenever we post a new freebie 🙂

Hey Sample Stuffers, it’s come to my attention that a lot of our email subscribers would prefer that emails are sent out the same day. Up until now, I’ve been using a automatic program called feedburner to send out emails. It’s awesome, but the drawback is that you could only send out emails once a day. I always chose the next day, so that our email subscribers wouldn’t miss out on any late night posts, but a lot of offers would be “expired” by then.

Well anyway I’ve been tinkering and I think I’ve made it so that you guys get 2 emails. One in the evening and one the next morning. This way you guys don’t miss out on any posts during the day or night.

Today’s going to be the first “test day” so please bear with me and let me know what you guys think.

Hey all, just a quick note. I’m going to be upgrading our servers this weekend so that the site runs quicker. The only thing is that depending on where you live for 48-72 hours you might not see new posts. Not to worry, you can click here to visit our backup blog where I’ll be posting this weekend too. Facebook is going to be making some changes to their user settings, so you might not be seeing updates from any fan page including ours. We post samples and deals that sometimes go extremely quick, so Facebook is the best way to ensure that you see them.

No worries, there’s a quick fix, but you’ll want to do it before the changes take effect. Here’s how:

1. Look at the top of your facebook homepage and click on Most Recent. Then click on Most recent once more.

2. Of the options that show up, click “Edit Option”
3. On the box that shows up, click the down arrow and select “All of your friends and pages” and save

4. Done 🙂

Now if you don’t want all your fan page updates, but don’t want to miss ours there’s a fix for that to:

1. Just click here and add Sample Stuff as a friend on facebook. We post all our updates there too, so you’ll see it in your feed.
