How to Save Money on Coffee

Who doesn’t enjoy meeting friends at the local coffee shop sharing conversation and a flavorful cup of joe? Only these days you can’t get out of a coffee shop without spending five to ten dollars for one person. This adds up to quite a bit of money if you do this more than
once in a span of a week.

There are frugal ways of enjoying those moments of conversation and coffee without spending much money at all. Try
inviting friends over for coffee instead of going out. You can still create the type of atmosphere you enjoy at a coffee shop,
but at home where you can mingle with friends and save.

Next time you get the urge to go out for coffee, by yourself or with friends, think about staying at home and putting that money to use in different ways. Start by purchasing one or two of the following groceries to add to your pantry or refrigerator:

  • Coolwhip
  • Half and Half
  • Coffee enhancer (flavor of your choice)
  • Chocolate (milk chocolate)
  • Flavored coffee

Try mixing a couple tablespoons of Coolwhip in a cup of coffee. The richness of the Coolwhip adds that latte feel and taste to coffee. Half and half is another liquid you can add to coffee to give it that creamy taste. Half and half is heavier and richer than creamer, so
you’ll love that creamier tasting coffee if you use it.

There are many products out there which enhance the taste of coffee. Products like Splenda have different tasting enhancers like hazelnut, Irish cream, and French vanilla to give your black coffee a hint of flavor without overpowering the coffee.

As a frugal shopper you know it’s okay to splurge every once in awhile, but not so much that it starts eating away at your pocketbook.
