Labor Day BBQ Ideas

Here are some of my favorite Labor day Recipes!

My family’s menu for Monday

Super Simple Baked Beans
What you need:
2 cans of any canned baked beans
1/3-1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon of garlic salt

In a casserole dish, combine beans, brown sugar, maple syrup and garlic salt. Cover dish with foil. Bake beans for 20-25 minutes. The flavor is amazing and it will taste like you spent HOURS making them!

BBQ Meatballs
What you need:
4 pounds of hamburger
1 small can of evaporated milk
1 1/3 cup of oatmeal
1 1/3 cup of bread crumbs
3 eggs
1/2 cup of onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 teaspoons chili powder

Combine all ingredients and shape hamburger mixture into balls. Place meatballs in a single layer on wax paper-lined cookie sheets; freeze until solid. Store frozen meatballs in freezer bags until ready to cook. Will keep for up to 6 months, without losing flavor!
(I made a HUGE batch when hamburger was on sale for 79 cents here.)

Sauce
What you need:
2 cups Ketchup
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup onion, chopped

To make sauce combine all ingredients and stir until sugar is dissolved. Place frozen meatballs in a 13 x 9-inch pan; pour the sauce over. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.

Grilled Garlic Corn On The Cob
What you need:
Shucked ears of corn
butter
minced garlic
Garlic salt
Pepper
tin foil

Lay out a piece of tin foil, large enough to wrap the ear of corn in. Spread butter on the ear of corn. Sprinkle some of the minced garlic over the ear of corn, add a dash of pepper and garlic salt. Wrap ear in tin foil. Place on the grill for 15 minutes, and flip. Let grill for an additional 10 minutes on the other side. YUM!

Strawberry Chocolate Pie
What you need:
2pounds of fresh strawberries, washed and sliced
2 boxes of chocolate instant pudding
1 tub of whipped topping
1 premade pie crust (Or make your own graham cracker crust)

Follow the directions on the pudding box. When pudding is smooth, pour into pie shell. Spoon on whipped topping, and smooth. Creatively place your sliced strawberries on the top. I like doing a spiral. Chill for 15-20 minutes and serve.

Try them out and I’d love to hear what you think! Happy Labor Day!

ENJOY!
